Our Mission
PINK - People In Need of Kindness
Our mission is to uplift inspire and enhance the lives of disadvantaged people in the city of Detroit by providing resources, education and support through programs and services delivered by organizations and volunteers in the community.
Each year PINK partners with an organization that serves the community. In 2023 we are pleased to partner with Alternatives For girls, a Detroit based non-profit organization founded in 1987. AFG’s mission is to help homeless and high-risk girls and young women avoid violence, teen pregnancy and exploitation; and help them explore and access the support, resources and opportunities necessary to be safe, grow strong and to make positive choices in their lives. Under the leadership of Amy Good, who has served as Alternative for Girl’s CEO since 1988. AFG offers the following programs:
Shelter, Prevention, Outreach and Housing Stability.
